The Work is Great

Dear beloved: pics: Construction at LW Primary School; Spread the Love Funday at Kakamega

Nehemiah 4:16 So it was, from that time on, that half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and wore armor; and the leaders were behind all the house of Judah. v17 Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon. v18 Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as he built. And the one who sounded the trumpet was beside me. v19 Then I said to the nobles, the rulers and the rest of the people, "The work is great and extensive, and we are separated far from one another on the wall. v20 Wherever you hear the the sound of the trumpet, rally to us here. Our God will fight for us."

Beloved, we have started on the construction of the Living Water Primary School of Makunda.  This will be a school for 200-300 children of Makunda village, many of whom drop out of school at grade 6 or 8, and there are some who don't even start school.  Besides providing a good basic education to the children, this will also be an evangelism opportunity, as we will be teaching Bible stories and singing songs about Jesus.  Many of the children of Makunda are of another faith, so they will be exposed to an environment they don't often experience. As Nehemiah proclaimed in the above Scripture, "Our God will fight for us", so too, the beginning of this school has been quite a spiritual battle. The battle will continue as we fight to complete it and get the first students enrolled.  We invite you to be a part of this project, don't wait until its finished and say with regret, "I wish I had jumped in on it."  When Nehemiah first heard that the walls of Jerusalem were destroyed, he sat down, wept, and mourned (fasted) for many days. He then asked the Lord for open doors and went into action.  So it is with our team at Living Water. We have wept, fasted, and prayed; now is the trumpet call for action. Pray about your part!  May God bless you as you pray.
