The Lord is Patient

2 Peter 3:8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. v9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. v10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. 

Beloved, the timetable of the Lord is nothing like our timetable.  Mankind is in a hurry, because of death we want to see everything happen in our lifetime. Contrast that to the Lord's timing. He is the creator of time and knows the beginning from the end, and eternity is His framework. The overriding will of God in all things is to see people come to know Him, that all should come to repentance and be reconciled back to their Creator. Even in the war with Iran, God's overriding will is that the beloved of Iran who want to worship Him in freedom will be allowed to do so, and that the demonically inspired nuclear ambitions of the regime against Israel and the USA will be demolished. The devil is always in a hurry to rush to Armegeddon; he still is foolish enough to think he can take over the kingdom of God, just as he tried to do in distant times past.  Read though Isaiah Chapter 14, you will see the motive of Lucifer, the shining one, as he desired to set himself up on the mountain of God (Isaiah 14:12-19).  Jesus final words to His disciples, we call the Great Commission, was to "go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, of the Holy Spirit, teaching them all that I have commanded you, and lo, I will be with you always, even unto the end of the age." (Matt. 28:19). At Gather the Outcasts, that is also our goal, to tell the world about Jesus and the joy of salvation through Him.
