Compassion of Jesus

Dear beloved: pics, Women mudding in the sticks on a new house; Masai refugees at Tanzania/Kenya border

Matthew 9:35 And Jesus was going about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. v36 And seeing the multitudes, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd. v37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. v38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send forth workers into His harvest."

Beloved, Jesus had compassion on the multitudes, because they were sick, broken, beat down and oppressed.  Not much has changed today, many people who don't know Jesus feel the very same way. Corruption, racism, stealing, sickness, all this and a whole lot more consume people's thoughts and feelings. Is it any wonder that immediately after Jesus went into the villages to heal people, He said, "the harvest is plentiful."   The good news is Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  He still heals the sick, the lame, the broken hearted, the betrayed.  The message of the gospel is the same today as it was when He walked the earth.  The question for us is simple: Are we going to believe it, and if so, what are we going to do to share it with others?  When you find the message of truth for your life, the pearl of great price, do you hoard it for yourself, or do you share the good news with those who have not heard it?  As part of our mission in Africa, we want to build a primary school in Makunda village, so we can give the children of Makunda a good basic education, all saturated and wrapped in the love and truth of the gospel.  Can you help?  Come to the fundraiser at Bullseye Event Center, downtown Norton, on June 23rd at 6 pm., join us for a fun time of worship and raising funds for this cause.  If you can't attend, you can donate to the contact information below, either by check or debit card through Paypal.  Pray about your part.  May God bless you as you pray.
