Dear beloved: Much discussion has been provoked by Pat Robertson when he made a comment about the earthquake in Haiti being God's judgment for the pact the people of Haiti made with the devil. It is ok for us to have our opinions on the matter but we also need to see what God's perspective is as spoken through His word. First, I would encourage all of you to not speak words of rebuke or judgment against Pat unless you have specific revelation from the Lord to the contrary. Psalm 105:15 says "Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm." When you speak against God's anointed prophets you are going to pay a price for it, so please do not do it. God speaks through His prophets and if he has spoken through Pat, accept it and go with it. This is not about compassion or our love for the Haitian people, or Pat's compassion or love for them, or our desire to help them in their distress. This is about the judgment of God upon a people for their continued sin and iniquity. So please refrain from judging unless you have specific revelation to the contrary. Go back and read the books of Ezekiel and Jeremiah. They continually spoke words of judgment and destruction upon the people of Israel, and the people did not want to hear the word, in fact they put Jeremiah in the stocks Jeremiah 20:2 Pashur had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put him in the stocks that were at the upper Benjamin Gate, which was by the house of the Lord; and again in Jer.37:14,15 Jeremiah was beaten and arrested and put in prison, and again in Jer.38:6 Jeremiah was seized and cast into a cistern and left to die.
So what was Jeremiah saying that provoked such wrath? Jer. 7:3 Thus says the Lord God of Hosts, the God of Israel," Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place. v4 Do not trust in deceptive words, saying, "this is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord." v5 "For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor, v6 and if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your own ruin, v7 then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever." And again in Jer.15:2 "And it shall be that when they say to you, Where shall we go?, then you shall tell them, Thus says the Lord: "Those destined for death, to death; And those destined for the sword to the sword; And those destined for famine, to famine; And those destined for captivity, to captivity." v3 "And I shall appoint over them four kinds of doom," declares the Lord: the sword to slay, the dogs to drag off, the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy." Do you think it was easy for Jeremiah to speak these words against his brethren? He was a man of flesh and blood just like you and me, and yet we know that all the things that Jeremiah prophesied came to pass, exactly as foretold.
In Matthew 24:7 Jesus spoke these words,"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. v8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birthpangs." This is the beginning, beloved, it is going to get much worse from a natural perspective. But why Haiti of all places, a place so desperately poor and broken down even before the earthquake? In Haiti, witchcraft and voodoo are the dominant religion. I have spoken with a pastor on a couple of occasions who has planted over 200 churches in Haiti and the Dominion Republic. In Haiti, witchcraft and voodoo rule the day. No decisions or actions are undertaken unless first a chicken, a goat, a pig, or if the animals are not available due to poverty, then children are sacrificed to the pagan gods to placate and gain their favor. Does it sound like maybe they have made a pact with the devil? What does it look like from God's point of view? Why is the Dominican Republic green, and relatively productive, and healthy, with a thriving tourism economy, yet they share the same rocks and soil and ocean that Haiti does? God does not care that 80% of the people in Haiti call themselves Christian, he sees their hearts.
Lest we here in America get too smug in our righteousness, we need to examine our own hearts in the light of the prophecies of Jeremiah and Ezekiel and put the name of America in the blank everywhere we see the word Judah or Israel. God is preparing all the nations of the earth for the second coming of His Son, who will come back with a rod to smite the nations. Chuck Pierce and Cindy Jacobs prophesied at the Glory of Zion New Start Conference on Dec. 31, 2009, Chuck,"watch the highways that begin to buckle, for throughout the states and throughout the nations as signs going into this season, I will buckle highways. I am rerranging the order of the earth so that the covenant with My land can now manifest in a way that has been stopped from manifesting in the last season. Watch the road systems for they will now begin to change," says the Lord. And Cindy, " I will shake it, I will shake it, I am going to shake the earth, you will see the earthquakes and the news will say, This place isn't on that fault line. This place never shakes. But I am going to shake everything that can be shaken.", says the Lord. Get ready for a shaking, beloved, get ready Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Norton. For the Lord is going to shake everything that can be shaken, and even the strongest of us will be shaken and tremble. Are you ready, repent and get ready! Are you ready for your highway to buckle, for your farm or business to shake?
Amos 3:6 If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city, has not the Lord done it? v7 Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets. v8 A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?... Stay on your knees brethren, for God has spoken. God bless you, in Christ, Jim
