The Upcoming Elections

Dear beloved:  With the elections looming large less than two weeks away, it is important to keep in mind God's perspective in the elections, and what He desires for this nation.  Many are still undecided on who they will vote for, if you are one of those reading this blog consider the issues and candidates from God's point of view.  The Lord instructs us through Solomon that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)  That is a far cry from the current political climate and debates, where virtually the only topic considered worthy of discussion is the economy, taxation, and the national debt.  While all these issues are very important, it is interesting to note that the discussion of moral issues, those issues that define the righteousness of a nation, are for the most part considered off limits for discussion.  Is it because these issues are the ones that truly reveal the heart and character of a candidate?  Because these are issues of the heart, they are the ones that are of utmost importance to God, for as rightousness exalts a nation, it is obvious that without righteousness this nation will not be exalted.

The two most important issues from God's point of view are these: 1) the sanctity of human life, for this is the foundation of all life and human activity under God's heaven.  In Genesis 1:26 God said, "Let Us (Triune God) make man in our Our image, according to our likeness; ;and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." v27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  And so the taking of human life through abortion is a complete and total rebellion against God's sovereign right to grant life here on this earth.  Even nature itself testifies against abortion, as humans for the most part are the only creatures on earth that intentionally, in a premeditated fashion, murder their young while in the protection of the mother's womb.  The propagation of the culture of death that begins with abortion speaks volumes about the heart of a person and of a nation; as long as unlimited abortion is the law of the land in America, the curses of God and the loosing of the devil will be profound upon this land.  2) The second issue that is close to the heart of God is the sanctity of marriage, this arises out of the first, as God has sovereignly created man and woman so they are the earthly creators of the next generation of Godly people; in addition, man and woman in marriage are also the earthly picture of Jesus Christ the Bridgroom, and His earthly bride the church (Ephesians 5:27-32).  And so the antithesis of God's plan for marriage and procreation is homosexual marriage, as it is open rebellion towards God's plan for human sexuality and procreation, as well as His picture of Christ and His bride, the church.  Can Christ be truly wedded to a church that full of spots, wrinkles, and perversions? No.

One prominent party, the Democratic party, and virtually all of its candidates are sold out to the institutions of abortion and homosexual marriage, these two parts of their platform are paramount and leave no room for doubt as to where they stand.  As you consider your vote, and how best to bring the blessings of the Lord onto this land, keep in mind the view from the Lord's vantage point, and vote accordingly.  God is not interested in the labels that men adopt for themselves, though that is something to consider, but God is primarily interested in the heart, as that is what He sees.  Romans 2:14 For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law unto themselves, v15 in that they show the work of the Law written on their hearts, their conscience bearing witness, and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my Gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus. Party affiliation is increasingly becoming an affirmation or rejection of these two issues, so it becomes quite easy to size up a candidate.  In the case of this year's election, a self proclaimed Mormon (gentile), instinctively does the things of the Law, because that moral code of God's will is written on his heart.  Another who claims to be Christian, but is in fact gentile (mixture of christian and muslim), obeys not the Law, so his thoughts accuse him before the righteous judgment of God.  Pray about it, you will see it.  God bless you, Jim

Prayer Meeting in Kenya Grows

Dear beloved:  I continue to receive updates from the university students in Kenya who have started meeting to pray as a result of the Tassia/Nairobi Victory Church revival in September. The number of these students now meeting has grown to 65, and they are meeting every Wednesday to pray for 24 hours, with the goal of eventually taking it up to a 24/7 ongoing prayer vigil. This is very exciting for the city of Nairobi as well as the country of Kenya and all of East Africa.

Acts 2:42 And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostle's teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  v43 And everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. v44 and all those who had believed were together and had all things in common. v45 and they began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. v46 And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, v47 praising God, and having favor with all the people.  And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

If one can put a thousand to flight and two put ten thousand to flight, just think what 65 students praying together can do.  This is a mighty move of God!  Let us pray and ask the Lord to continue to bless this move so that more will join, that they will have the provision and stamina to do mighty exploits for the Lord.  If anyone reading this blog would like more information, please email me at pureprairie@hotmail.com, I would be happy to share information.  The students have also asked for money to purchase or to be sent a laptop computer, if you would be interested in providing either of those let me know.  May God bless you as you pray today, in Christ, Jim

Revival in Kenya

Dear beloved: I have received an email from the brother in Nairobi who started a prayer movement after the meetings I conducted at Victory Church in Tassia, Nairobi back in September. The prayer group is comprised of a group of twenty or more university students who attended the meetings, and then went back to their campus and began meeting on a regular basis to pray for their country, the upcoming elections in 2013, and for their own walk with the Lord. In the email he informed me of a revival that has broken out among the group, and they are taking it to the campus and the city as the Lord gives them direction. He asked for prayers from me and the people who follow this ministry, not only for the continuing prayer vigil, but also the revival to catch fire.

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place v2 and suddenly there came from heaven the sound of a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the house where they were sitting, v3 and there appeared unto them cloven tongues as of fire, and it sat upon each of them v4 and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. As the revival fires broke out in Jerusalem that Pentecost day nearly 2,000 years ago, I pray that also the revival fires would break out in Nairobi this very day, and spread all over Kenya and then all over Africa, even to the ends of the earth. The same Holy Spirit that was poured out on all flesh that day, is here and present also this day, and is just waiting to stir up the hearts of those who would have a desire to invite Him into their presence.

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. v32 and the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and one soul; neither said any of them that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them. v33 And with great power the apostles were giving witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. Ask for the fire of the Holy Spirit to come into these precious saints in Africa, and the fire they start would also spread to America; we need revival here desperately. May God pour out His blessing on those in Kenya and may God bless you as you pray today. in Christ, Jim www.gathertheoutcasts.com

Insane Boy Delivered!

Dear beloved:  One of the most dramatic moves of God I have seen came at a meeting we were having at the New Hope Fellowship church in Mumias, Kenya.  We had been having some very powerful meetings in the church, the Holy Spirit was moving in a mighty way, setting people free and giving them joy unspeakable.  A young boy about 13 years of age was brought into the meeting by his mother, and she told one of the pastors that the boy had been insane since he was in the third grade.  The boy came up to the front and I began to pray over him and lay hands on him, and then I hugged him and held on to him for several minutes, just so he could feel the power of the Holy Spirit that was coming through me.  At that point he just fell to the ground, and lay motionless for about 30 minutes on the ground.  I wrapped a prayer shawl that I was using around his head as he laid still on the ground, soaking in the presence of the Spirit.  When he finally did get up, another pastor and myself starting asking him questions, and he was able to answer them and was in his right mind!  Praise the Lord!  He came back to the meetings the next two nights and we prayed for him again, for the Lord to confirm and seal the healing and deliverance, that he would be made whole and complete by the power of the Holy Ghost within him, to finish what God had started.

I have some pictures of the boy which I will be posting on my website, or if you want to see it in a mailer to your email box, let me know at www.pureprairie@hotmail.com and I will send you the mailer that I sent out from Africa with his picture on it.  Matthew 17:15 "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic, and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.  v16 And I brought him to Your disciples, and they cold not cure him."  v17 And Jesus answered and said, " O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you?  How long shall I put up with you; Bring him here to Me." v18 And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once.  v19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"  v20  "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you. v21 But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.."

The Lord Jesus wants to set all of us free, He went to the cross for out healing as well as our salvation.  The power on display there that set this lunatic boy free at Mumias was the same power Jesus displayed when He cast the demon out of the young boy in front of the disciples. Believe it and you shall receive, if you are burdened down with sickness and depression, know that God has a plan for you to set you free, and the power to back up that plan.  Speak to the mountain and watch in expectation for it to move!  May God bless you as you move forward in the kingdom today, in Christ, Jim

Victory Church Meeting in Nairobi

Dear warriors: Last night's meeting at Victory Church was amazing, the Daystar Chorus and praise band is nothing short of out of this world, I hope to bring them to Kansas when they come back to tour the US in 2014. They can sing, dance, play instruments, do it all, there was 22 of them on the platform and it was constant motion and fragrance of worship, I was humbled to be with them. Today we are praying for more of everything, I will be preaching on deliverance from Isaiah 61, Jesus came to set the captives free. Some of the people in attendance last night were Muslims from Mogadishu, Somalia, they came because their children are in Boniface's Victory School, they are learning scriptures and bible stories! Bwana a Safiwe, praise the Lord!

I have a prayer request and donation request for my host pastor Bishop Boniface Mosoti. Boniface is building a 50 unit apartment complex (it is very basic, sheet metal structure) next to the church for low income people to have a place to live, and to provide a very badly needed income source for the church and his school with over 200 children. The complex is 80% completed and he has secured a loan to complete the rest of the project, but he was informed when we went on Friday to sign for the loan that he needs comp insurance for his car which is being used as collateral for the loan. So he needs $1500 for insurance otherwise everything remains at a standstill. \Please pray about this and if the Lord moves you to help let me know if you can. You could do all or part, I will see to it that he gets all of it so he can get this project finished. You can send the money to my box @ Gather the Outcasts, Box 92, Norton, Ks. 67654, designate for Boniface building project. Boniface is trustworthy and this is a good project that will help his school and church in a great way. Let me know by email if you are donating and how much so I can plan, if you can do the full amount I would have you wire direct to Nairobi to expedite things. Thank you for hearing this request and God bless you. By His Grace, Jim

Home Sweet Home

Dear warriors: I am back in the USA today, arrived in Kansas City last evening, ready for some sleep but very thankful to be home, and very thankful for all that the Lord did for me and through me in the past month. Today I am spending time in the prayer room at tthe International House of Prayer in Kansas City, praising God and giving Him thanks for bringing me through the fire and safely home again. When I think of all the travel, the trip into a war zone in the Republic of Congo, and all the protection He gave, I am humbled and want to worship Him for all His greatness!

I received an email from a brother in Nairobi who was at the last meetings at Victory Church, and he was very grateful for the prophetic message I spoke from the 6th chapter of Revelation about the black horse of famine. The Lord had given me a dream about the black horse which I shared with the church to prepare them for the events to come in the end days. He went back to his university and started talking about the dream and message with his friends, and they started praying intensely for Kenya, America, and Goma, Congo. They were lifting all that up in prayer and asking for more revelation from the Lord on how to pray more effectively and more intensely in these end times. At the final service Sunday night, I put a microphone in front of the congregation and we had harp and bowl, open microphone prayers for awhile as the worship team sang to the Lord. It was very powerful to hear the people cry out for their nation, for America, for Goma; even some of the children came up and offered prayers and cry out to the Lord! Asante Jesu, thank you Jesus!

Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders said to me, weep no more, behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, The Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. v6 and I beheld, and lo, in the midst of the throne and the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. v7 And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne. v8 And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

I will post more pictures and videos when I get back to Norton. I am so grateful to all you who prayed, donated, and interceded for this mission. God knows your sacrifice and you will be rewarded accordingly. Bless you, by His Grace, Jim

Back in the USA

Dear beloved:  Thank you to all who have read the posts  and prayed for me while on the mission trip to Africa.  I have been back home for a little over a week now and am starting to get my feet back on the ground and feeling better physically.  I will be posting several times in the next few days about different experiences that happened to me over there, I hope you find them interesting and also it will give you direction for prayers, as well as give you a glimpse of the body of Christ worldwide in all its many facets.

In the previous post I talked about the outbreak of praise and dancing that occurred in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.  The crusade meeting spoken of happened in the afternoon, in addition, that morning I preached in a church in Goma, the Deliverance Center of Pastor Joel Amurani.  The city is a city of a million or so people built on top of a lava flow that comes from a volcanic mountain just a few kilometers north of the city.  In 2002 the mountain erupted and covered Goma in lava and ash, destroying 50% of the buildings in the city, so the city is in a state of rebuilding; the aftermath of the eruption resulted in much of the city being rebuilt on top of lava and ash.  Pastor Joel's church is in a neighborhood that is totally black from lava rock, all the roads, yards, and walls between houses are black.  A depressing sight in the natural, but the Spirit of God was certainly in that church, and the light of the world was shining bright for all to see as I went there that morning to preach to a packed house of about 500 people.

The night before I was to preach in Pastor Joel's church, I got very sick and spent most of the night up with diarrhea and vomiting , due to some bad food or water.  I got up after very little sleep and was wanting to cancel out of the preaching for that morning, but the bishop who came to pick me up said to me, "the people are waiting for you!", so how could I beg out of the commitment?  I hurriedly went back up to my hotel room and vomited again, then came back downstairs, jumped in the car, and took off for the church.  Soon I was packed in the church with 500 believers hungry to hear the word of God, and as I got up on the platform to preach, I was weak and frail, gasping for air as it was very hot and stuffy in the church.  I got down on my knees in front of all those people and prayed for about 5 minutes for God to give me the strength to stand and preach with power.  God answered!  I got up and preached for an hour and a half, then before leaving I laid hands on and prayed for every man, woman, and child in the place.  Bwana a Safiwe! Praise the Lord!   Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness."  Most gladly therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. v10 Therefore, I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.   God bless you, by His grace, Jim
