Breakthrough in Goma, Republic of Congo

Dear beloved:  Last night's meeting in Goma, Republic of Congo was one of the most amazing meetings I have ever seen.  The meeting was the finale in a week of pastor training and crusade meetings, and I was expecting the Lord to show up in a mighty way and He did!  I had been battling a spirit of religion that was quenching the Holy Spirit and last night the breakthrough came.

I preached from 2 Chronicles 20, about King Jehoshaphat and his battle against the enemies of Judah and Jerusalem.  He appointed singers and praise leaders to lead the people in praise and worship against the enemy, and the Lord set ambushes against the enemy and they routed each other and were utterly destroyed.  This message was a prophetic message for the people of Goma, as they are in the center of a conflict with rebel armies that are coming in from other places to steal, kill, and destroy what rightfully belongs to the people of the Congo.  When I got to the end of the message, the whole auditorium of about 1,000 people broke out in uproarious praise and wild dancing and worship, it went on unabated for about 20 minutes.  It was truly a heavenly visitation!  The spirit of the enemy was broken, as well as the spirit of religion over the church that prevented the church from being victorious.

Last night's meeting was filmed on Immanuel TV, a local Christian channel and it will be aired today and go out over all of North Kivu and Eastern Congo.  I hope to get a copy of it and post it on the internet and this blog eventually.  Thank you for your prayers and intercession.

Tomorrow I will be flying back to Nairobi where this weekend have another series of revival meetings in Victory Church of Bishop Boniface Mosoti in Tassia/Nairobi.  Please pray for these meetings I will have much more to post on this blog when I get back to America. If you wish for updates from the field here in Africa, send me your email address at www.pureprairie@hotmail.com. Thank you and God bless you, in Christ, Jim
