Blessings of Work

1 Thessalonians 3:8 We did not eat anyone's bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. v9 not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us v10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: if anyone does not work, neither shall he eat.  v11 For we hear that there are many who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. 

Beloved, one of the joys I have in working at the Children's home is to be able to do hands on work projects and farming with the children. We have made an effort to teach the children that work is a blessing, given by God Himself. It is in Deuteronomy 8:18, the Lord says "it is God that gives you the power to get wealth."  I thank God for all the hard working men and women of America who built roads and bridges, houses, and also for the farmers who work tirelessly to keep the nation fed.  We want to promote that in Kenya so they will see the peace that comes with food security, and the confidence and self esteem that comes from tackling a job and finishing it well. We want to raise up children that are well rounded in every aspect of their life, so they will be an asset and outstanding citizen of Kenya.
