Crucified with Christ

Dear beloved: pics, Children Funday, Emmanuel teaching; Masai Mara, Simba too close!

Galatians 2:20  (Apostle Paul)  "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. v21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."  Galatians 5:24  All those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Beloved, the Apostle Paul brings up the concept of crucifying the flesh in his Epistle to the Galatians.  To crucify the flesh means to crucify the desires of the old man, the sinful nature. But for those in the USA, it also presents the challenge of taming the desire for excess in every material thing.  Americans desire and have more of everything; more food, more clothing, more medicine and health care; more education, cars and beautiful houses, more Bibles.  The list could go on and on. The danger in giving in to the desire for all things material, it reduces our desire to suffer for Christ's sake.  Even Jesus told the disciples, "If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself, pick up his cross and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."  (Matt. 16:24-25)  What have you done lately, or ever, to pick up your cross and carry it for His sake? Among the poor of Kenya, we see suffering and endure suffering for the gospel every day. Not to boast in any way, it just goes with the territory.  We invite you to partner with us as we take the good news of Jesus to people who are hungry for the message of hope. We are still looking for monthly partners to help build a good foundation for the ministry.  Pray about your part in storing up treasures in heaven through Gather the Outcasts Ministry.  May God bless you as you pray!

Dear beloved: Pics, Western Kansas sunset 6/24; Mbeya, Tanzania Crusade

Exodus 36:4 Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each for the work he was doing. v5 and they spoke to Moses, saying, "The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do." v6 So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, "Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary." And the people were restrained from bringing, v7 for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done- indeed too much.

Beloved, the Lord instructed Moses to build a tabernacle where He could meet the children of Israel.  He gave precise instructions on the dimensions, materials, all the articles of worship, along with how everything was to be used. Even down to small details such as the color of thread, all of it symbolized in different ways the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. One of the most amazing aspects of the construction, though they were wandering in the desert wilderness at that time, the people brought such an abundance of materials the craftsmen had to tell them to stop!  We aren't quite to that point yet where we will ask people to stop giving, in fact, quite the opposite.  I want to invite 50 people reading this newsletter to come alongside Gather the Outcasts Ministry and partner with us at whatever level you can afford.  We need more monthly partners to help build a foundation for the work here in Africa, to help us meet monthly expenses of operating the Children's Home and Living Water Church of Makunda. Makunda is a poor village even by Kenya standards- our monthly church offering from the congregation averages about $50.  Can you commit to giving $25, $50, or even $100 on a monthly basis?  A meal in a fast food restaurant in USA costs $10-$15 now days, in Kenya that would buy food for a couple of weeks for one of our children. Pray about your part!  May God bless you as you pray.

New Testament Church

Dear beloved: pics; Pastor Dominic praying over new graduates; Buseresere, Tanzania, Crusade

Acts 2:42  And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrine and fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayers. v43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

Beloved, the hallmarks of the New Testament church as described in the book of Acts are listed in the above Scripture.  Noteworthy is the fact that the church is built on sound doctrine. At Living Water Church of Makunda, we have just finished with a graduation service for the first class of graduates for a Certificate in Christian Ministry.  This certificate was given to fourteen candidates who completed an eighteen week course in Bible study, covering subjects such as basic doctrine, as well as evangelism, Christian character, and principles of leadership. Notice also the New Testament church of Acts 2:43, was a church of supernatural signs and wonders.  The people were in awe of the God they worshiped, a fear built on reverence and respect. God has not changed in the last two thousand years, though just about everything else has.  He is still a supernatural God, a God of miracles. When we pray for the sick or pray for miracle provisions, we expect supernatural results. At Gather the Outcasts Ministry in Kenya, we want to become a sending ministry, to send forth preachers and workers into the harvest field. Would you pray about partnering with us, so we can train up and send out disciples into all the harvest fields of Africa?  The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  God bless you as you pray!

Test the Spirits

Dear beloved: pics, Living Water children helping spread compost; New church member baptism

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. v2 By this you know the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, v3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.  And this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

Beloved, one of my early childhood memories was going with family up into the Rocky Mountains west of Denver. I filled up my pockets with many rocks of what I thought to be gold, but alas, it was only iron pyrite, otherwise known as fool's gold.  And so it is in life, in politics, in some relationships, everything that glitters is not gold.  That is why the Apostle John warned of the spirit of the AntiChrist which is now in the world. This is not the final  AntiChrist, the man who will burst on the scene at the end time tribulation and take his seat in the temple, The spirit we see operating in some people on the world scene and in politics now, is just the little spirit, the precursor, the forerunner. We are being set up for the end time deception.  Even here in Kenya, everyone talks about God, but which God?  Among the people I live with, many don't know Jehovah God, the father of Jesus Christ, who came in the flesh.  He came to die for our sins, to shed His precious blood on the cross of Calvary. That is the test. Pray that you not be deceived and fail the test, it is either pass or fail.  We invite you to partner with Gather the Outcasts Ministry here in Africa, as we preach the revelation of the one true living God, the God who has a Son, and His name is Jesus who is risen from the dead!  May God bless you as you pray!

Blessings of Work

Dear beloved: pics, Rosecoco red bean acre patch; Young boys helping Chris build clothes line

1 Thessalonians 3:8 We did not eat anyone's bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. v9 not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us v10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: if anyone does not work, neither shall he eat.  v11 For we hear that there are many who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.

Beloved, one of the joys I have in working at the Children's home is to be able to do hands on work projects and farming with the children. We have made an effort to teach the children that work is a blessing, given by God Himself. It is in Deuteronomy 8:18, the Lord says "it is God that gives you the power to get wealth."  I thank God for all the hard working men and women of America who built roads and bridges, houses, and also for the farmers who work tirelessly to keep the nation fed.  We want to promote that in Kenya so they will see the peace that comes with food security, and the confidence and self esteem that comes from tackling a job and finishing it well. We want to raise up children that are well rounded in every aspect of their life, so they will be an asset and outstanding citizen of Kenya. We invite you to partner with Gather the Outcasts Ministry in Kenya.  As a monthly partner you can help us reach more people here with the good news of the gospel, as well as care for the children the Lord has given us at Living Water Children's Home.  Any amount you can give on a monthly basis, or one time gift, will help us promote the kingdom of God in Kenya.  Pray about your part!  May God bless you as you pray.

The Lord Sees the Heart

Dear beloved: Pics: Hilary pretending to go to school; Children's Funday, Elizabeth teaching

1 Samuel 16:1 Now the Lord said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.  v7 But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at Eliab's appearance or his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. v13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

Beloved, the world is full of pretenders. In the above picture, our boy Hilary was pretending to go to school. He is only two years, but he felt very bad because the other children had all gone to school and he was left behind. The Bible says, "the king's heart is in the hands of the Lord, like rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1)  For many years after Saul was rejected as king, he pretended to be king, even sat in the office.  The true king, the Lord's anointed, was on the run as the pretender was trying to kill him. Eventually, the demise of Saul came to the point where he even fell on his own sword in battle,  After that the Lord opened the doors for the anointed, King David, to take his place as the rightful ruler of the nation of Israel, first in Hebron for seven years, and then in Jerusalem for thirty three years.  Let everyone who has ears to hear, listen and understand what the Lord is doing. Beloved, we invite you to partner with Gather the Outcasts Ministry here in Africa as we teach and preach the good news of the gospel to this lost generation.  These poor people in Kenya need hope, and there is no other besides Jesus Christ the Messiah.  We are also in our 19th year of preaching the good news on FM radio in the USA. May the increase of His government never end!  Pray about your part.  May God bless you as you pray!
