Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, " If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. v25 For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. v26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Beloved, God has so created us that when we give up our life and our own desires to follow Jesus, at that point we actually "find" ourself. And the harder we try to hang on to our desires and exclude Him from directing us, the more we lose our life. What have you resolved to give up, if anything, for the kingdom of God in 2018? Three years ago a prophetess called and prophesied this verse over me: Hebrews 12:4, "You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, in your striving against sin." I have to say in December that prophetic word was fulfilled. The sacrifice of our Savior was brought into sharper focus.
