The Value of a Child
Dear beloved: Pic above; left, children at revival in Malaba, Kenya; right, New Hope Preschool children with Chad
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." v27 So God made man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. v28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it."
As we celebrate the sanctity of human life this week, let us reflect on the value of each and every person, born and unborn, who were created in the image of Almighty God their creator. How ironic that in African countries where I have preached, the people have very little money or material possessions, but they make room for many children in their families. In America, where material wealth is abundant, we don't think we can afford children, and abort over a million children every year. What is the value, or worth, of a single human being? Are they as valuable as a nicer house or car, or tickets to all the sporting events? Beloved, stand with Gather the Outcasts as we make a place for the unwanted, the orphans and outcasts of Kenya. May God bless you as you pray!

Building the Walls
Dear beloved: Pictures above, Building the walls of the main house at Living Water Orphanage in Kenya
Nehemiah 4:14 And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses." v16. So it was, from that time on, that half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and wore armor; and the leaders were behind all the house of Judah. v17 Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.
Beloved, when rebuilding the walls of our lives, we need to keep one eye on the enemy, and one hand on our weapons. The weapons of our warfare are many: prayer, fasting, reading and memorizing God's Word (sword of the Spirit), fellowship of the saints, worship, service to the kingdom. All the while covered with the armor under the shadow of His wings. It's a battle we can't lose; the battle is the Lord's. Beloved, let's build the walls of the Living Water Orphanage so these precious children can see the Light of the World. God bless you!

Help the Children
Dear beloved: Pictures above, left, Chad with New Hope preschool children; right, children who need sponsors
Mark 10:13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them who brought them. v14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. v15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."
Beloved, we still have children that need sponsors to help provide for them maize meal, tea, shoes, uniforms, tablets, and paper and pencils. The sponsorships are only $20 per month, and will go a long way to see that the basic necessities of the school and the children are met. The new term starts this week, and the number of children will double from thirty to sixty children. Even more importantly is that these children will be taught stories about Jesus and His love for them. Some of the children are from muslim and other unchurched families, so the school is an evangelism outreach as well. Bwana a Safiwe! Thank you for you prayers and support.

New Beginnings 2017
Dear beloved: Pics above, Living Water spring at orphanage site; Congolese Worship choir at Holy Spirit Church in Kampala, Uganda
Nehemiah 1:3 And they said to me (Nehemiah), "The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire." v4 So it was when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.
Beloved, as we turn the page of the calendar to a New Year 2017, this is a great time to take stock and meditate on the walls and gates of our lives and ministries. We can look back on 2016 and see where we need to make improvements, where we need to shore things up, restore what needs repair. This is a great time to pray and fast, to seek the Lord for guidance and direction, and also to rebuild what has been torn down. In 2009, on the 28th day of a Daniel fast, I received a call from a lady who prophesied over my life many things regarding my future and family. One of the things she prophesied was that I would be preaching in Africa, and within a year the prophesy came true, I was standing In Nairobi, Kenya, preaching the Word. Fasting and prayer always opens doors! This is also a great time to come before the Lord with an offering. May God bless you as you pray!
